The Brux-eze appliance is a bite splint designed to treat bruxism, commonly known as teeth grinding. It is designed to ease jaw muscle pain and protect natural teeth and restorations. The splint is worn at night and prevents teeth from contacting directly and wearing the enamel as well as minimizing muscle stresses.
The Brux-eze splint is custom fitted. Before the first use, it is to be held under hot tap water before insertion. The special thermo-plastic material softens when it is heated and hardens when cooled. By biting on it when it is warm, it molds to the individual patient’s mouth.
