Instrumentarium Panoramic X-ray

Instrumentarium Panoramic X-Ray System

A panoramic x-ray is an effective way for a dentist to view the entire jaw area, teeth, surrounding bone structure, sinuses, and nasal area. It is a fast, easy, way to visualize a patient's dental status with less radiation than a traditional dental series.

The system does not require the bite wings customarily used in traditional imaging. Instead, the patient bites on a plastic spatula and the equipment rotates around around the head, providing an ear-to-ear image. The procedure takes approximately one minute to compete and there is no discomfort associated with the imaging.

Panoramic imaging is generally used to view impacted wisdom teeth, periodontal bone loss, diagnosis of jaw or dental pain, assessment for implant placement, orthodontic assessment, inter-dental cavities, carcinomas within the jaw,

TMJ diagnosis, as well as for other diagnostic reasons.
